Biking family of five

I just learned about this family's quest to travel to Alaska from Mount Vernon, KY.
They just made their way to the round-about off Leucadia Blvd. What a bonding experience for this household. I did ask my wife if we do could a similar type biking trip? She said "didn't we do 7000 miles last summer" yes in a motorhome.

Happy New Year

With so much to be thankful for like family and friends, at our house we really slowed down to savor this season. The weather and surfing has been outstanding. A year ago most people were uncertain about the new way forward with so many rapid changes under way. Now that many of us have adapted to the "New Normal" it has an effect of making our lives simpler. We wish you the very best Happy New You!

Ocean week

Over the last 8 days has been a fun set of events that centers around Cardiff School. How lucky for our children as well as the parents to enjoy the resource of living by-the-sea. My son and daughter are currently intrigued with "ocean animal art" along with creative ideas that adults know are not reality.
I'm so happy to see them dream and believe in mermaids as well as riding dolphins while reading!

Famed 'boat' house open for public tours

ENCINITAS ---- People who have long wondered whether the city's beloved "boat" houses look as nautical on the inside as they do on the outside will have a chance to find out Saturday. For one day only, and for perhaps for the first time in the city's history, one of the two "boats" is open for public tours. S.S. Moonlight tours; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Cost: $10 per person, or $20 per family. By BARBARA HENRY To continue reading at the North County Times.

A bit pricey for viewing a vacant rental, but it's not everyday you can view such a different type of living quarters.Bookmark and Share

Hall Property Update, Coastal commission won't get involved

The state's Coastal Commission, after a short discussion Friday, unanimously rejected requests by Cardiff residents for it to become involved in a dispute regarding an Encinitas sports park project. Commissioners said the city's plan for the 44-acre Hall property near Interstate 5 has become controversial in the community, but found no "substantial issue" of statewide concern related to the project.
